WCS Specialist

Do you have a good knowledge of supply chain management and do you have experience with complex logistic processes & warehouse mechanization/automation? What does a WCS & Automation Specialist do?

As a WCS & Automation Specialist at GXO Logistics you will be working in a young, dynamic international environment. You are responsible for the conceptualization and development of automated warehouse solutions, including the technical system control and management of suppliers. In this role you cooperate on a project basis with colleagues from departments like Engineering, IT, Facility, Operations and Procurement.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the Project Workstream "Automation" in the implementation of solutions for new customers
  • Coordinating with the Logistic Engineers about the functional design, capacity & throughput
  • Functional design of the Warehouse Control System (WCS) and internal/external coordination with the IT team and with suppliers
  • Intensive collaboration with the IT team to ensure proper integration of the Reflex WMS with the WCS
  • Cooperation with Facility and the Technical Automation Specialist regarding technical issues, connections and the physical installation
  • Supplier Management to ensure correct and timely delivery of a working installation 
  • Defining KPI's and setting up SLA's to enable Supplier & Performance management after implementation 
  • Supporting the implementation of innovative technologies such as robotics, cobots, AGVs, vision and other logistics solutions
  • Sharing and promoting best practices between existing sites in the region.

What do you possess?

  • A completed HBO or university degree in a logistical and/or technical business administration direction
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Affinity with complex logistic processes & warehouse mechanization/automation (functional & technical)
  • Experience with control of automatic installations (WCS) & Supplier Management (SLAs/KPIs)
  • Ability to work on projects and in a team, both internally and externally (with customers and suppliers)
  • Excellent knowledge and control of MS Office. AutoCAD is an advantage.
  • Command of the Dutch and English languages, orally and in writing.
