European Category Manager (IT)

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a European Category Manager to join our central procurement team on a full-time, permanent basis, contracted from our head office in Northampton, although we are flexible on location. You’ll be positioned as a trusted advisor in strategic sourcing and IT procurement initiatives and will work in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors if required, across European and global territories.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Seek out and propose commercially beneficial opportunities using your market and business knowledge for all IT requirements
  • Manage the compliance of purchasing in the IT space against appointed suppliers, identifying opportunities for appointed supplier growth
  • Collaborate with your counterparts on a global level to deliver best-in-class technical and commercial solutions, whilst creating and implementing approved cost reduction strategies and projects
  • Manage tendering projects, summarising and making recommendations of supplier appointments


What you need to succeed at GXO:


  • A proven track record in an IT-focused procurement role within a large, complex international business
  • Strong knowledge of IT contract management and centralised purchasing processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of international agreement creation, execution and management
  • The ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels and across all functions
  • A full driving licence with the ability to undertake travel across the UK and Europe as and when required
