L&D Manager

Logistics done differently. 

 

This is not a drill and we certainly aren’t screwing with you; in fact, we think we’ve hit the nail on the head with this one! Due to growth of our B&Q contract, we are on the lookout for a National L&D Manager. We know you hear this all the time, but this really is an opportunity to climb the ladder of success by gaining exposure to multiple sites and stores.

 

You’ll join us as an L&D Manager on a full time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday supporting our GXO B&Q transport and Store to Home Delivery operations across the UK. We’re looking for an L&D Manager to lead the on-site L&D presence, lead and deliver the network L&D activity and develop the L&D plan whilst, ensuring compliance in all regulatory requirements. We’re not looking for someone to tick every box listed below, but we are looking for someone that can help drive a culture of positive engagement.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £48,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • You will build the sites and stores L&D team, implementing processes and systems to deliver site objectives, playing an active part in the site ethos and strategy – we’re looking for someone to influence our teams
  • Day-to-day you will manage the L&D functions, taking responsibility for all aspects of staff performance, including standards and behaviours – we need you to be passionate about training
  • You will coach and support the development of the operational training lead as required and look to corrective coach department heads with the support of operational learning
  • We’ll need you to work closely with the HR Manager to implement performance management and provide training to managers to support successful reviews, development plans and PIPs

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Experience in managing a training team and delivering training on a large scale at operative level
  • Exposure to talent management and succession planning, as well as managing recruitment and induction activities
  • Experience of designing and delivering robust projects and task plans, plus monitoring and evaluating the results
  • Excellent communicator across several boundaries, with the ability to build long term client relationships
