Are you a Health & Safety or QHSE Manager with logistics experience looking for your next challenge?


Here at XPO, we’re looking for a full-time, permanent QHSE Manager to join us on our Waitrose operation in Brinklow, Milton Keynes. Working office hours, Monday to Friday (with a bit of flexibility – this is logistics after all!), you’ll lead everything safety-related on site, driving a positive safety culture and ensuring that QHSE is well and truly on everyone’s radar.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £42,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Work as part of the site management team, ensuring that all health, safety and environmental matters are dealt with efficiently, effectively and in line with legislation and best practice
  • Champion the XPO philosophy in the management and communication of QHSE issues for the site
  • Review and create risk assessments and safe systems of work for all tasks carried out across the whole operation, including both warehousing and transport
  • Carry out regular and accurate QHSE-related reporting, feeding these back to the management team and wider site as part of the monthly health and safety meetings that you’ll lead


What you need to succeed at XPO:


  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced logistics distribution environment, preferably with exposure to retail, FMCG or grocery distribution
  • An excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental legislative framework with either an IOSH qualification (essential) or NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to effectively influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to drive a strong safety culture from the ground up, inspiring and motivating your team to continually strive for continuous improvement
