Are you an experienced HR leader who prides yourself on your ability to effectively drive people strategy across several locations?


Here at XPO, we’re looking for a full-time, permanent Contract HR Manager to join us on a national basis to support our key contract with Iceland Foods. Overseeing a total of over 2500 colleagues across 6 complex warehousing and transport sites dotted around the UK, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of a consistent framework for people-related activity across the contract.

What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Work closely with our site and central HR management teams to integrate HR practices, drive the engagement agenda and champion people-related change and organisational design
  • Act as a confidant, influencer and enabler for the contract’s Account Director, allowing them to make calculated, evidenced and commercially focused people-related decisions
  • Ensure that our site HR teams are providing an effective and efficient consultancy and advisory service to our operational teams, acting as a key mentor, coach and go-to escalation point
  • Facilitate, lead and drive programmes such as performance management, talent and succession management, recognition, engagement surveys, learning & development and policy updates


What you need to succeed at XPO:


  • Demonstrable experience of operating as a true business partner and change agent focused on shaping, driving and developing the people agenda across multiple locations
  • Strong experience of HR policy and practice, particularly around disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and TUPE situations, as well as a CIPD qualification
  • A background in overseeing HR activity across multiple logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
  • The ability to effectively communicate with and influence a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and via a variety of mediums
  • Experience of local and national trade union negotiations
