As the Director of Project Management, you will directly oversee and support development and deployment of the XPO Managed Transportation Project Management Team’s Sales to Start-up processes. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Directly oversee the success of all business unit start-ups
  • Ensure the standardized deployment of the Sales to Start-up process and Lean Management platform for all business unit products
  • Conceptualize a future state in relatable terms to site operations teams and executive leaders, and develop the change management plan for effective and efficient implementation
  • Serve as a change agent for culture change and the use of leadership standard work at all levels of the organization
  • Relay XPO’s change management approach to future customers
  • Track overall progress of XOS deployment program in terms of stated goals, particularly around cost savings and training targets
  • Engage with current internal and external customers during the start-up process to ensure success

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management in a distribution center environment or a related field
  • Experience leading large-scale, multisite and/or multiregional transformational supply chain projects
  • Advanced experience with Lean tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, standard work, 5 Why Analysis, etc.; analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, run charts, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools, as well as change management techniques

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Lean Expert and/or Six Sigma Blackbelt certified; or Lean Master
  • Availability to travel 30-50% of the time, occasionally on short notice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems; produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
  • Strong project and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and get along with diverse personalities
