What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Strategically build and nurture customer relationships through world-class performance, open/direct communication, astute problem-solving and the collaborative alignment of goals
  • Grow new organic opportunities with customers to diversify and expand our core business
  • Manage and prioritize all opportunities to enhance client relationships and accelerate the decision- making process that will grow the business
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to create a strategic and tactical plan to develop and implement customer-facing, consequential solutions
  • Strategize with account management team each week regarding any opportunities to ensure solutions are being effectively communicated; accurately forecast respective opportunities based on realistic assessments
  • Develop specific plans on how to develop, grow and strengthen client relationships
  • Prepare detailed plans, including defining activities, sequencing tasks, assigning resource requirements and providing duration estimates
  • Act as a liaison with key clients, including senior-level sponsors, partners and vendors, to define program scope and ensure the timely delivery of all program components
  • Monitor and communicate progress; collaborate with clients to publish status reports and handle and report on issues and action items

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management
  • 10 or more years of supply chain operational experience and knowledge, coupled with business development and/or sales experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills; able to consistently lead teams to deliver positive results
  • Proven ability to balance the voice of the customer (VOC) with influencing internal management to meet financial and customer expectations

It’d be great if you also have:

  • MBA
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time
  • Experience with inside sales with current customers; ability to diligently and professionally handle existing customers
  • Innovative, decisive leadership skills with a strong results orientation
  • Confirmed reciprocal and innovative mindset; strategic in thinking and approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills; able to work in a team environment and harmonize with diverse personalities
  • Proven confidence to take calculated risks; able to make strategic, results-oriented decisions and accept responsibility for the results (positive or negative)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
