As the Transportation Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and handling a variety of transportation activities, as well as supervising day-to-day transportation operations and a driver workforce. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead and supervise transportation staff and drivers
  • Train and evaluate employee performance; recommend or initiate hiring, promotions, transfers or disciplinary actions
  • Optimize efficient routing of deliveries and driver performance
  • Coordinate and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations
  • Track and trace shipments for customers to ensure on time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates, as necessary
  • Respond to incidents and collisions; coordinate with appropriate company resources to resolve problems; provide follow-up and reporting, as required
  • Correctly maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit and file various documentation

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of transportation or supply chain experience
  • Basic knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications; ability to create complex formulas in Excel and quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of operations experience, including 1 year of supervising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Ability to develop insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees
