What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Self-starter, working both independently and as part of a team, requires little or no guidance.
  • Design and deliver scalable integration solutions, covering all facets of the life cycle including development, runtime and operations
  • Provide engineers with conceptual and logical designs; provide design guidance and guardrails and support the team during the delivery
  • Evaluates and advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities in moderately complex situations
  • Brings forward solution recommendations for review and validation
  • Leads PoC’s, PoV’s to validate and demonstrate solution options
  • Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
  • Conduct research on new and emerging technologies for practical application to business problems in the context of assigned work effort
  • Provide leadership by developing guidance around middleware-based integration architecture, strategies, guidelines and standards

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 5 years of IT industry experience in the architecture domain
  • Experience with EDI/MFT, API management system design, implementation and operations.
  • Experience with common transmission protocols, file formats, canonical structures and tools including HTTP, REST/SOAP, XML/XSLT/XSD/WSDL, JSON, XML, XSLT, EDI, AS/2 and SQL
  • Experience with one or more Integration middleware products and commercial translators: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Dell Boomi, Apigee, Talend etc.,
  • Extensive expertise in utilizing event-driven and messaging platforms such as queues, subscriptions/topics (JMS, MSMQ, MQSeries and Service Bus)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Knowledge of business process automation, service enablement (API management/gateways), ESB messaging for real-time data propagation, service-oriented architecture (SOA) for information sharing, and Extract, transfer, and Load (ETL) for data staging and movement
  • Familiarity with integration best practices including routing, filtering, transformation/enrichment, batching, encoding, optimization, correlation, and standardization/normalization
  • Familiarity with information security and protection of data in motion and at rest (encryption, transport, and message security)
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends, occasional travel
  • Experience working in logistics and supply chain management industry
