Are you a Health & Safety Advisor or Manager with logistics experience looking for your next challenge?

Here at GXO we are looking for a full-time permanent QHSE Advisor to join our Health and Safety Team covering two sites in Essex  - our new and exciting operation in Basildon and a Co-op recycling depot in Thurrock.

 Working office hours, Monday to Friday (with flexibility – this is logistics after all!), you’ll lead safety-related compliance for both sites, driving a positive safety culture and ensuring that QHSE is well and truly on everyone’s radar.

We’re looking to offer a salary  up to £45,000 per annum, plus a company car.  In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).  You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work in partnership with the site management teams ensuring that all health, safety and environmental matters are dealt with efficiently, effectively and in line with legislation and best practice
  • Champion the GXO philosophy in the management and communication of QHSE issues for the site
  • Review and create risk assessments and safe systems of work for all tasks carried out across the whole operation, including both warehousing and transport
  • Carry out regular and accurate QHSE related reporting


What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced FMCG or Logistics environment
  • An excellent understanding of safety, health, and environmental legislative framework
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to effectively influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to drive a strong safety culture from the ground up, inspiring and motivating your team to continually strive for continuous improvement
