We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager based at our Weetabix site in Burton Latimer.  The main purpose of the role is to create and implement the continuous improvement strategy for the site and to train the onsite team in CI methodology and activities in order to create and embed a real CI culture on site.

 

This site operates on a 24/7, basis with varying shift start times, therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential in order to ensure that all shifts are fully engaged in the sites CI initiatives. 

 

As this role will be responsible for creating and embedding into our everyday ways of working successful candidate must be able to quickly and effectively engage, coach & develop the onsite team members at all levels. 

 

The main responsibilities of this role include identifying process improvements, cost saving initiatives and upskilling the team in lean and CI tools and methodology to help support the sustainability of the CI culture on site.

We’re looking to offer an annual salary up to £50,000 per annum, dependent upon experience. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  •  Responsible for all CI activity on site
  • Creation and Implementation of a Continuous Improvement Strategy
  • Coaching and educating colleagues in CI & lean
  • Ensuring customer & business has all relevant information regarding CI & lean activity on site
  • Collate a weekly / monthly update, presenting a monthly slide deck internally and externally to the customer.
  • Provide regular management information/KPI’s to fully track the progress and effectiveness of the CI activity.
  • Lead / support initiatives and CI pipeline, collecting / collating data, including base lines.
  • To ensure all staff follow Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety.
  • To ensure you lead by example for adherence to the XPO Code of Conduct and rules and Procedures.
  • To carry out other duties as directed by your line manager
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong data-driven approach, including the ability to present findings visually to support effective decision-making.

 

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

  • Proven track record in Continuous Improvement delivery
  • Experience of working in a large, busy operation ideally within a logistics environment
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • A tenacious multi-tasker with the ability to work under pressure and to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Preferably qualified in lean methodology and/or Six Sigma or similar
  • Ability engage a team at all levels in the CI agenda and create a culture of sustained improvement
  • Ability to design implement a successful lean/CI training programme to enable the onsite team to fully engage and participate in the delivery of the improvement programmes on site
  • Proven track record in Continuous Improvement delivery
  • Experience of working in a large, busy operation ideally within a logistics environment
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills

  • Preferably qualified in lean methodology (Toyota Principals, VSM,VM, Kaizen, Gemba, etc) and/or Six Sigma or similar

  • Ability to design implement a successful lean/CI training programme to enable the onsite team to fully engage and participate in the delivery of the improvement programmes on site
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively to deliver real and tangible improvements
  • Self -motivated, starter-finisher, with ability to prioritise work loads
  • Ability to work under own initiative
