Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Senior Business Development Executive to generate and deliver growth in the UK and Ireland. This is a highly autonomous role, where you will work across solution design, operations and finance to ideate, develop and close new business opportunities and positively influence a key range of stakeholders.  

Our relationships with our customers, both existing and potential, are crucial to us. We only offer them the best in the industry, working collaboratively to ensure their needs are met. The services we provide are second to none, providing innovation, experience, and answers to all their logistics needs. You’ll be a pivotal part of this. You’ll enjoy networking, building new relationships whilst also maintaining and developing the opportunities with our existing customers. You will thrive in a role where you spend your time finding new business partnerships and building long lasting relationships.  

Whilst no two days are the same at XPO, typically you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Lead new business development for a defined list of target customers 

  • Create and execute prospecting plans, to successfully build a pipeline of new business opportunities 

  • Create and present winning customer solutions and commercial proposals 

  • Represent XPO Logistics at trade shows and networking events, building and nurturing your list of contacts as you go 

 

Experience 

  • No formal qualifications are required 

  • Experience  within the logistics or related industries. 

  • A proven track record of winning large multi-year outsourcing contracts in logistics and transport 

  • Be conversant in current trends in UK and global supply chains, with an understanding of what these mean for potential new customer 

Skills: 

  • Strong networking experience. 

  • Demonstrable background in sourcing leads and converting sales 

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 

  • Familiarity with SalesForce advantageous.
