We are recruiting for a Head of Strategic Development to generate and deliver growth in the UK and Ireland. This is a highly autonomous senior sales role, where you will work across solution design, operations and finance to ideate, develop and close new business opportunities. You will have a strong and engaginging personality, and be skilled at building relationships and positively influencing stakeholders.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Lead new business development for a defined list of target customers
  • Create and execute prospecting plans, to successfully build a pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Robustly qualify leads and project manage new revenue opportunities
  • Create and present winning customer solutions and commercial proposals
  • Represent XPO Logistics at trade shows and networking events, building and nurturing your list of contacts as you go

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

  • Extensive experience of working in new business development within 3rd party logistics, retail, consumer and/or industrial industry verticals
  • A proven track record of winning large multi-year outsourcing contracts in logistics and transport
  • Be fully conversant on current trends in UK and global supply chains, with an understanding of what these trends mean for potential new customers
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills
  • Resilient, creative and focused on selling solutions and closing new contract wins
