Planning Manager

We’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Last Mile Planning Manager to lead delivery planning and stock flow across our customer network — including B&Q and other major clients. You’ll manage systems, teams, and transport operations to ensure seamless final-mile delivery to hubs in Dublin, Athlone, Cork, and beyond.
You will be working a rotating shift pattern Mon – Fri 6am-3pm and 10am to 7pm.
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up 45,000 EURO per annum. Over time rate time and a third. In addition, we offer 23 days plus bank holidays. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Oversee customer stock from receipt to final-mile delivery
- Lead planning of all deliveries via last mile hubs
- Manage Paragon, SHARP & XPO Connect systems to ensure clean, accurate job status
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager on cost control and budget performance
- Develop and manage KPIs aligned with customer SLAs
- Lead, coach, and manage the site team to deliver high performance
- Act as the main customer contact and resolve operational issues
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation
- Manage system/stock discrepancies, damage and missing reports
- Oversee store and port trunking operations and subcontractor performance
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental standards
- Maintain safety documentation and equipment care
- Uphold vehicle and workplace organisation standards, including audits
People Leadership
- Foster collaboration and best practice sharing across teams
- Align labour plans with business needs; manage absence and overtime
- Monitor performance through PDRs and 1:1s
- Develop future leaders and champion change
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- Proven experience in logistics planning or last mile operations
- Expertise in planning systems (Paragon, SHARP, XPO Connect)
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and efficiency
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety standards and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
