What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Implement and manage software asset database to track entitlements, deployment, and maintenance information for XPO’s global software consumption; includes software types such as: server, device, telephony, storage, middleware, database, business, desktop, and reporting
  • Manage requests from business stakeholders, IT managers, developers, and vendor management team members for specific IT software asset management data and information
  • Collaborate with and support the contract management team with vendor negotiations on software licensing, maintenance, and other services
  • Work with the contract management team to ensure that maintenance, support, and upgrade purchases and renewals are ordered and managed in accordance with XPO’s procurement processes
  • Respond to initial vendor software audit requests and support the audit process

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field
  • 5 years of experience with developing and implementing software asset management processes and programs, and managing a software asset management team
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of software licensing rules, global licensing implications, software metering, and methods to optimize utilization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows applications; ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
  • Ability to work occasional extended days/weekends to meet deadlines

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)
  • 6 or more years of experience with developing and implementing software asset management processes and programs, and managing a software asset management team
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and time demands in a rapidly-changing environment, with a high sense of urgency, reliability, personal integrity, and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to utilize a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures; team-oriented and able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative relationships both internally and externally
