Working as a Coordinator at GXO Logistics – Lelystad

For our Lelystad Distribution Center, we are looking for Coordinators for different departments.


What does your day look like as a Coordinator?

When the day starts you first begin with a meeting with your team leader, in this meeting you will discuss matters and incidents of the previous shift. After this, you will go to the floor as Coordinator to support the operation by checking the processes on different departments like inbound, sortation, and outbound. If necessary, you will train the operators and/or instruct the right follow-up with the aim of improving and/or optimizing processes. Also, you will work with different warehouse systems like SAP and WMS. Regarding these systems, you will be the expert with the purpose to help and train users to understand them and to operate them if necessary. In several cases, you will need to report and document problems/bottlenecks in order to prevent/resolve these types of issues in the future with the help of colleagues of different departments. (For example, issues with scanners or not correct inventory in our system). As Coordinator, you also ensure that work instructions are up to date and, if necessary, create them. You will report your work and findings to the Team Leader.


Other responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the progress of the operational process
  • Communicate with team leaders about developments and status orders
  • Monitor all safety regulations and internal procedures and rules
  • Identify and report incidents. Performance and registration of tasks are also continuously monitored, recorded, and reported
  • Discuss and assess the performance of the team members. Collaborate with performance reviews on employee performance
  • Report improvement proposals related to the work environment
  • Training new team members and support their adaptation and integration into the position


What makes you a great candidate:

  • You have HAVO / MBO level/ Education to Secondary Education or High School Degree
  • You have at least two years of experience in a similar function within logistics
  • You possess communicative and coaching skills to transfer knowledge
  • Due to working within shifts, you live in or near Lelystad
  • You have Min 1 year of work experience as a team leader in automated logistics/distribution centers/warehouse stockrooms
  • You have excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of Dutch and Spanish is an advantage
  • You have management skills, leadership, motivation, and the ability to work as a team member
  • Flexibility, proactiveness, and initiative are strong skills to be considered
