Job Summary & Scope:  

The position of Program Manager Business Support is one of the key roles in the account and part of the EMEA Account Management Team. The role reports directly to the EMEA Account Director.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing overall customer satisfaction with a focus on Project-, Performance- and Quality Management.

Together with your colleagues and your team, you will ensure that we will continuously strive for better performance towards our customer. The environment is highly dynamic with a high level of growth. The role is multi-faceted with a diverse team managing Quality, Customer Service, Inventory Control, Projects, Trade Compliance, Business Intelligence and Training.

This position will also be responsible for – together with the Management Team - establishing a strategic direction and plan for the customer account growth within the company.  It also includes tactical account management and issue resolution, managing Operational Excellence performance, and managing solution design and pricing. 

You will be working in a dynamic, international environment with 11 operations in 6 countries and are part of a Global Business Support team and you will work actively together with your counterparts in AMER and APAC regions.



  • Lead the XPO Quality Program, our key driver for operational performance and customer satisfaction improvement. The XPO Quality Program is rooted in the LEAN methodology.
  • Manage all continuous improvement initiatives, projects and IT deployments throughout the EMEA network.
  • Lead the design of new XPO solutions and innovations to support customer requirements and align those with all EMEA sites in 6 countries.
  • Ensure all account related (KPI and other) reports are issued timely with the highest possible quality
  • Drive account growth through effective RFP/RFQ solutions development
  • Lead the Trade Compliance, Customer Service and Business Intelligence teams
  • Build and improve strategic relationships with client senior management
  • Ensure customer contractual obligations are met / contract compliance

What are you bringing?

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/Business Administration
  • 7+ years of experience in a comparable position
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written (Dutch is a plus)
  • A passionate manager -sensitive to both people and process - who can inspire his team and drive the wider XPO organization for this account to a higher level of performance.
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification, preferably Black Belt
  • Excellent Project management skills (Prince II or equivalent qualification is a pro)
  • Solid IT knowledge and – applications skills (e.g. SAP or Oracle, MS Office)
  • Result-oriented, strong communication skills, data driven and pro-active
  • Self-driven, adaptive and resilient
  • Able to thrive in a challenging and demanding environment
  • You are resident in the region and are willing to travel about 20% of your time to the locations within this account.
