Reporting to the EMEA Account Director, the Program Manager DC/MC (Data Center / Mini Cluster) will own and manage the relationship with the customer regionally, focusing on the delivery of value-added support services and logistics. The appointed person will be required to develop a deep understanding of the customer’s requirements, operations and the associated supply-chains, support mechanisms etc. The Program Manager will lead the regional operations teams (7 sites / ~200 FTE) and will have full responsibility for customer satisfaction and XPO operational performance, including logistics, facilities, safety, security and quality.

The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA Account Management Team and will be expected to contribute to the development of the role and customer experience, overall.

This position requires an experienced relationship manager with strong leadership, planning and communication abilities. The Program Manager will ensure that a highly motivated, customer-centric culture prevails, supported by a proactive and ambitious mindset.

This position requires a highly competent contributor who is a clear decision maker with excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communications skills, across all channels and with individuals and groups at all levels. A highly organised approach is required plus the ability to prioritise and deliver on a diverse range of sometimes conflicting priorities. Strong change management capabilities and project management abilities will be key.

A highly collaborative and self-motivated working style is essential, in addition to excellent team leadership abilities. The appointed person will have high energy levels and personal standards in terms of quality, excellence and the desire to achieve sustained results.

The remuneration package offered will be commensurate with the seniority of this role.


Main Responsibilities

The Program Manager DC/MC will be responsible for all deliverables relating to the EMEA operations at the Data Center locations, in accordance with customer requirements. In this role is up to 30% travel required (during the COVID pandemic travel will be an exception).


The main Duties shall include the following:

  • Own and Manage the customer relationship regarding all XPO regional logistics activities of the customer’s Data Center operations
  • Define the requirements for all operations, based on a clear understanding of customer needs and expectations
  • Provide effective team leadership to ensure the correct implementation of new strategies and initiatives, to meet or exceed the defined requirements
  • Organise all XPO resources to optimise customer service
  • Make suggestions regarding future service offerings based on anticipated customer needs
  • Ensure that the XPO operation is cost-efficient
  • Utilise LEAN philosophy and techniques, quality management processes, productivity improvement and cost control methodologies within the operations
  • Develop a set of Key Performance Indicators with the customer and take responsibility for achieving / exceeding these (eg cost, quality and responsiveness)
  • Lead and develop the XPO DC/MC Team (incl. planning, scheduling, performance management, training)
  • Maintain and improve safety standards
  • Support Finance team for invoicing, forecasting & budget planning


Qualifications & Experience

The appointed candidate is likely to have a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, working in a customer facing role with a significant operational focus and a strong emphasis on customer experience. Relevant industry sectors could include Data Centres, Technology, Logistics, Supply Chain, Medical Devices, Security etc.


Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable
  • Exemplary communications and team leadership abilities
  • Ability to critically evaluate, categorise, prioritise, plan and implement
  • Customer-oriented, committed and flexible regarding the needs of the role
  • High abilities in terms of analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to take tough decisions but with the self-awareness to seek advice where appropriate
  • Skilful communicator who can energise others with a vision for the future
  • A team player who enjoys the success of others and who can delegate
  • Experienced in Shipping and Logistics
  • Good Social awareness
  • Strong IT Skills
