Working as a Supervisor DC at XPO Logistics - Eemshaven

Main duties & responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop a safe work environment (Safety is our first priority)
• Work with local leadership to define requirements for operations and ensure that the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements
• Responsible for exceeding customer expectations and metrics (cost, quality, and responsiveness). Daily interaction with internal and external customer is required
• Manages performance continually by developing and training associates
• Fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required
• Working in line with the LEAN philosophy and work on productivity improvements

Work environment

You will work in an informal and dynamic environment with motivated colleagues. In this position, you will be reporting to the Program manager Dc’s / Mc’s and you will have direct reports. You will also be in frequent contact with your business equivalents at other sites and staff members (HR; Safety and Security).

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor Degree (Logistics or related field preferred). Experience may substitute for education
• Leadership skills (4-6 years managerial experience)
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Experience with safety systems and tools
• Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in MS Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Production and planning/optimization experience
• Accurate, responsible and Pro-active attitude
• Ability to analyze and coordinate
• Internal and external problem solving attitude
• System Knowledge (LEAN; ISO; systems process / orientation)
