As the Senior Director of Operations Planning and Engineering you will provide leadership to field engineering, operations and technology, and project sustainability. You will provide guidance to the District Field Engineers by sustaining project implementations through compliance and weekly planning process for LTL.  Planning process support and feedback includes Weekly Staffing, daily dispatch and Linehaul capacity process.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Direct and build a strong engineering team of embedded field engineers focused on meeting and exceed XPO cost and quality goals by directly managing the operational plans for the district and centers.
  • Hire, train and develop LTL Engineering staff and provide the expertise expected to support a diverse group of engineering professionals
  • Provide technical support and direction to the Field and solution Engineers
  • Direct the progressing advancement of LTL IT improvement project and XPO 2.0 work
  • Direct the sustainability of programs and field engineering operation alignment, provide SWAT team and on-site support as required; analyze on-going cost and service improvements needed.
  • Identify ongoing facility design requirements based on activity levels, product flow and transportation methods, building layouts and power requirements
  • Direct Operations planning and engineering professionals in all aspects of areas of responsibility

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related field or Supply Chain logistics related discipline
  • 7 years of Operations planning and/or engineering leadership experience
  • Continuous improvement related methodology experience
  • Business Agility and IT Collaboration experience
  • Experience directing root cause analysis activities, and supporting process development and documentation
  • Ability to travel domestically of up to 40%

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master’s degree
  • SaFe Agile Certification
  • Master Black Belt
  • Ability to identify and specify the use of automation where justified
  • Ability to execute continuous improvement and Lean strategies by translating business objectives into actionable projects and shares best practices throughout the organization
