As the Immigration Manager, you will act as an immigration authority, advising HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Recruiters, Hiring Managers, Leadership and sponsored Employees on United States-based immigration requirements, processes and timelines.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Oversee U.S. immigration cases, for new hires and existing employees, including all temporary and permanent visa types (non-immigrant / immigrant)
  • Review all immigration sponsorship hiring requests from Talent Acquisition, providing approvals as applicable in accordance with USCIS regulations and internal policy
  • Monitor bi-weekly open cases report to ensure established processing timelines are being met
  • Partner with external immigration legal counsel to request opening new cases while achieving compliance with U.S. immigration laws and XPO’s internal visa and immigration policies
  • Obtain internal approvals ensuring accurate and timely Permanent Resident initiations including prevailing wage documentation, postings and labor market recruitment process
  • Provide consultation and guidance to internal stakeholders, such as reviewing promotions and transfers to determine material changes having impact to visa petitions; and preparation of requested job descriptions
  • Consult with sponsored foreign nationals to resolve questions on all aspects of immigration, and effectively explain any impacts on their immigration status, including reviewing international travel requests

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of experience working with immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications and processes
  • Extensive vendor management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in a role that requires a high degree of confidentiality and/or dealing with sensitive information
  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships across different cultural and organizational styles and languages
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a rapidly changing, high stress environment with a sense of urgency, personal integrity, energy and stamina
