What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Direct, establish and monitor performance standards for returns processing, collections, billing, disputes, deductions and month-end close
  • Set cash and aged debt goals for the organization, the teams and individual collectors
  • Ensure that collection activities are performed on all accounts with a past due AR balance, in accordance with corporate policy
  • Adopt and implement collection strategies aligned with various customer types, including strategic accounts, mid-tier and small accounts
  • Ensure the collections team meets customer contact and collection call volumes standards
  • Coach, develop and motivate team in reaching new levels of skills, knowledge and attitude
  • Drive performance metrics, such as days sales outstanding, bad debt percentage and weekly cash receipts
  • Work closely with credit and cash application Senior Managers and Directors to influence and execute the order to cash strategy

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • 7 years of management experience
  • Experience handling a large volume (high volume/low value) of transactions

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, mentor and influence employees
  • Ability to develop insightful, beneficial and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results; produce unambiguous, comprehensive and accurate interpretations
  • Innovative, decisive, results-oriented and strategic in thinking and approach
