What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert for all eDiscovery-related issues across the enterprise; leverage expert experience with eDiscovery collection tools
  • Provide comprehensive eDiscovery support to internal and external Legal teams, assisting them in depositions and court hearings when needed
  • Ensure that standard procedures for eDiscovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life cycle of each matter
  • Partner with vendors and in-house resources who are performing preservation, collection, processing and/or hosting services
  • Manage and conduct eDiscovery data collection, processing and production under the direction of the Legal team and outside counsel
  • Maintain awareness of laws, rules and industry best practices/processes as they relate to eDiscovery
  • Continuously influence process improvement within the Legal, Human Resources and other XPO functions
  • Implement strategies to drive efficiencies and control costs by assessing and managing vendor performance, expense forecasts and process insourcing/outsourcing
  • Support the Legal and HR departments with internal investigations when needed, including collecting, processing and preserving related evidence
  • Act as the primary technology liaison to facilitate the successful completion of eDiscovery and legal technology projects
  • Support the implementation and ongoing operation of legal technology systems, including legal hold management systems, eDiscovery tools, matter management, eBilling, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to track and report departmental key performance metrics
  • Conduct research on the actions of current and former employees to identify potential activities that could put intellectual property at risk

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Information Technology, Legal Matter Management, or demonstrated experience in these areas
  • Expert-level experience with commercial eDiscovery tools and using the EDRM model
  • Demonstrated experience conducting digital evidence gathering and managing internal investigations
  • Expert-level experience with writing and developing eDiscovery policies and procedures and with writing/presenting reports and findings
  • Deep understanding of computer forensic and incident response methodologies
  • Experience presenting technical findings to a nontechnical audience
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis, documentation and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Visio and Access
