What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support continuous Improvement by identifying the best automating processes
  • Hire, train, develop and provide technical support to engineering staff
  • Conduct root cause analyses of process inefficiencies through operational data analysis, process reviews, time studies, statistical reviews, simulation and discussions with operational leadership
  • Maintain and improve requirements for automation solutions based on product profile and activity levels
  • Conduct efficiency analyses to identify cost savings opportunities and assist other programs
  • Determine required maintenance and support for Goods-to-Person (GTP) automated equipment
  • Develop preventive maintenance tasks and schedules to mitigate less than 100% uptime operations 
  • Identify changes to existing functionality; test IT and engineering solutions and functionality
  • Partner with IT and engineering team to identify and document new functionalities not currently available
  • Support the development of processes and procedures for human interface functionality with automation equipment; support validation techniques and metrics to ensure successful project completion

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of engineering and distribution-related experience
  • Experience in Lean Methodology
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma practices and principles

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Automation experience in Goods to Person (GTP), ARS, AGVs or other automated systems
