What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Partner with organizational leadership, corporate safety and business executives to develop a capability map and workforce plan outlining the current recruiting landscape and defining the capabilities needed for the future
  • Lead the driver recruitment program by developing and implementing an effective plan, process, materials and cadence for recruiting efforts to meet driver growth targets
  • Develop and manage advertising budgets and strategies, driver retention tracking and improvement plans, identifying critical talent to build the team, driver recruiting themes, vendor management, development, rewards and other key recruiting initiatives
  • Develop and deliver a plan to build truck and driver capacity and culture within the organization; collaborate with internal and external business units and partners to implement best practices
  • Stay current on internal and external driver acquisition best practices and trends, share and apply them regularly, and lead other driver acquisition initiatives
  • Ensure we deliver exceptional customer service to our valued drivers and client customers

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 7 years of transportation and recruiting leadership experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Availability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, which may include planned and unplanned early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement experience
  • Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and business acumen to manage a team and meet KPIs and business growth objectives
  • Ability to collect and analyze market, business and/or technical information to draw conclusions and make educated recommendations impacting operations
