What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Increase load capacity by networking and recruiting contract, full-time drivers and owner/operators through advertising campaigns, word-of-mouth and direct sourcing
  • Contact owner/operators and demonstrate the advantages of having a contracted partnership with XPO
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified owner/operators
  • Communicate with the Safety department to demonstrate a clear understanding of the contract and full-time driver job requirements (company and DOT requirements) to effectively screen applicants
  • Ensure applicants are qualified and that their equipment meets company standards
  • Complete New Driver Surveys and Exit Surveys to provide the business with in-depth, actionable data and feedback
  • Assist contract, full-time drivers and owner/operators with issues that may arise

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 2 years of experience in the transportation industry; understanding of DOT/CSA guidelines

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Recruiting experience in the transportation industry, including direct experience with recruiting owner/operators
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials regulations; familiarity with weight laws, DOT requirements, and state and federal safety laws
