What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Develop and drive commercial strategy and tactics that deliver corporate EBITDA goals, increase profitability and reduce costs
  • Provide direction for the strategic sales teams to support external customer relationships and drive sales ownership into the district centers
  • Lead pricing strategy in the area through collaboration with Sales, Pricing and the Marketing team
  • Achieve regional P&L goals and drive ownership of the P&L through span of control; develop, implement and achieve the area's cost budget
  • Develop, communicate and execute KPIs; lead team to meet goals and develop countermeasures when falling short of plan
  • Search for opportunities to continuously improve operational execution and profitability; focus on accountabilities, growth opportunities and trends to provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurement
  • Ensure employee engagement by fostering a supportive work environment, ensuring effective employee relations and applying HR policies consistently across the workforce
  • Collaborate with multiple functional areas such as Business Intelligence, Finance, Safety, Procurement and IT to develop data paths to identify efficiencies

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 10 years of experience working in a supply chain, procurement, maintenance or transportation service company with some Less-than-Truckload (LTL) experience
  • Supervisory experience in a team-focused environment
  • Ability to read and manage P&L
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT maintenance regulations
  • Knowledge of sales and supply chain management techniques and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to perform and direct moderately complex analyses in spreadsheet and database programs, including Microsoft Excel and Access

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master's degree
  • Availability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive materials and information
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
