As Vice President of New Business Implementations, you will be responsible for oversight of the project managers/teams, industrial engineers and implementation specialists. You’ll also serve as the primary liaison for the implementation and project teams, operations, executive leadership, IT leadership and the sales/business development teams. What you’ll do on a typical day: 

  • Establish and maintain a successful project management office
  • Provide direction for contractor relationships within the team, including ensuring appropriate accounting for billable time and approving invoices
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet the internal resource demand while maintaining appropriate levels of team utilization
  • Analyze projects and recommend opportunities to increase revenue or reduce costs
  • Work with the resources manager, business development teams and operational leadership to assign resources to projects
  • Collaborate with sales and the sales operations staff to complete project estimates, statements of work and other documents or tasks as needed to shorten and/or close the sales cycle
  • Engage staff from other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of professional services resources
  • Partner with related teams to resolve project escalations and scope creep issues
  • Encourage and coach direct reports to deliver customer satisfaction ratings that meet or exceed company standards

What you need to succeed at XPO: 

At a minimum, you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management in a distribution environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Experience as a project management practitioner on large projects
  • Experience leading teams comprised of 50 or more project management professionals
  • Knowledge of and experience with PMI disciplines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, warehouse management systems and database systems

It’d be great if you also have: 

  • Master's or other advanced degree
  • Experience in an ISO environment
  • Availability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Demonstrated planning, project management and problem-solving techniques; strong analytical skills
  • Ability to partner and communicate with all levels of an organization from hourly associates to executives, as well as with customer contacts
