As the Solutions Engineering Manager, you will use engineering and consulting skills to deliver proposal management, project delivery and engineering/consulting process management. You will also provide new value propositions by finding opportunities through rigorous data collection and analysis, and crafting marketable solutions for the client. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Identify, propose and deliver key initiatives that improve the client’s supply chain operations and/or drive efficiency into the team’s internal processes
  • Manage the planning and end results through management of teams
  • Define roles and responsibilities, and plan for the department’s future needs and operations
  • Counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes
  • Assist in creating standard operating procedures
  • Develop and deliver productivity and engineered solutions for the account

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other technical/analytical discipline
  • 7 years of experience in one or more key functional areas: supply chain management, logistics, decision support systems/technology, transportation management, distribution or procurement functional responsibilities
  • Excellent computer skills, including analysis, spreadsheet and database proficiency (MS Access and Excel)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Ability to develop insightful, beneficial and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results
  • Strong project and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
  • Ability to find opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources and develop, recommend and implement solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
