As the Terminal Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operations for a drayage site with between 30 and 70 independent contractors. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Monitor terminal P&L to meet established budgets and forecasts
  • Oversee all dispatch, planning and document management functions
  • Manage operational performance, including on-time pickup and delivery, volume level, equipment balance and empty miles
  • Own and lead the effectiveness of terminal interactions and relationships with independent contractors (IC); manage IC tractor maintenance compliance and service delivery
  • Recruit and retain contractors while meeting established fleet size goals
  • Ensure terminal staff is properly trained, and that they participate in continuous learning courses as required
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints/resolving problems

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8 years of experience in logistics or transportation 

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or Operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire team members
