What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Partner with the business leadership team to administer corporate policies and programs related to HR; provide input for the design and development of companywide HR initiatives and programs
  • Serve as a liaison between internal customers and leadership; assist with personnel issues, provide guidance on resolutions and establish and maintain positive employee and community relations
  • Lead employee relations investigations of the region in collaboration with internal partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure HR practices are aligned with business needs; make recommendations when changes are appropriate
  • Administer and assist in the development and implementation of various HR initiatives, including talent planning, organizational development and the performance management cycle; provide guidance and direction to employees with a focus on maintaining a high-performing work environment centered around coaching, counseling and following company policies
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure job descriptions are up to date and reflective of current responsibilities
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to identify and execute various training initiatives that support the growth and objectives of the business
  • Collaborate with the Talent Management team to ensure processes and onboarding practices meet the needs of applicants; recommend improvements in the process

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of experience in HR
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

It’d be great if you also have:

  • PHR certification
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software
  • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on results and quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills
