What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Directly supervise Team Leads and Analysts/Engineers, including recruiting, hiring, managing, training, and evaluating the performance of QA personnel
  • Coordinate with various teams, including Development, Product and Business, to assess severity and priority of reported issues
  • Grow and manage a team that is composed of both onshore and offshore resources
  • Manage the planning and execution of product testing efforts, including all associated resources, to meet committed delivery dates
  • Work with project managers to develop schedules and resource allocation models for QA-related projects
  • Provide guidance around automation strategies, working with the QA Automation and Application Development teams
  • Drive continuous improvement of the change control process, including modifying policies and procedures as needed
  • Review Requests for Change (RFCs) and approve or reject them based on their adherence to documented change management process requirements and standards

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 5 years of experience leading quality assurance cycles with a focus on testing large, multitiered systems consisting of multiple applications
  • 2 years of management experience or the proven ability to lead a team
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing the design, development and implementation of software testing solutions
  • Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Experience in environmental management
  • Expertise in agile project methodology

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Organizational skills to manage a wide array of testing information; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages and test automation technologies
  • Proven track record of creating and executing highly-effective quality processes
  • Ability to handle an extremely fast pace while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Ability to maintain composure in the face of highly-ambiguous environments and constant change
