What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work within revenue management and commercial groups to creatively solve business problems by understanding business processes and applied economics to identify and implement solutions that will drive revenue performance
  • Defines and solves complex problems through quantitative analysis and analytical models, using operations research, statistics, predictive modeling, machine learning, and forecasting techniques
  • Builds mathematical models, develops applications, and provides support to the business. Utilize statistical techniques including clustering, regression, and time series analysis to improve forecasting systems
  • Formulates hypotheses and design tests to support business. Leverages statistics to evaluate tests that will drive positive revenue decisions
  • Able to structure and deliver professional presentations and communications around complex topics targeted to varied audiences
  • Partners with Information Technology to implement prototype solutions and improve systems
  • Collect, pull, and push data to back-end storage using coding languages and data analysis technologies

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 4 years of industry experience developing predictive and prescriptive science models
  • Deep knowledge of Econometrics, Pricing, Statistics and Probability Theory
  • Experience with advanced machine learning and cloud-based computing
  • Advanced programming and data mining skills
  • Proficiency with SQL

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Mathematics or Statistics
  • 3 years of professional experience in quantitative analysis in the transportation field
  • Experience leading projects and interfacing with business teams
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
