As the Specialist, Sales Support, you’ll uncover, develop and grow both existing and new business to meet company goals and expectations. This will require research and make calls daily to customers, collaborating with internal and external individuals, working on pricing and contracts and performing reports and other supportive materials. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prospect for leads to build a pipeline, including heavy cold-calling
  • Manage existing accounts to retain and grow share of business while periodically reviewing and understanding customer contracts and pricing   
  • Coordinate and work on RFP, RFI and RFQ’s, quote and price opportunities, and develop solutions to secure business
  • Use both traditional and electronic communication tools to make contact with prospective, current and former customers
  • Work in concert with other departments to determine most competitive pricing for contracts, bids, and quotes
  • Identify business opportunities for company services
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and be able to run reports, as needed
  • Maintain and update accurate information in the company's operating systems
  • Work with other departments like IT, accounting and operations to effectively setup new accounts
  • Occasionally perform sales calls and attend trade shows

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of related work experience
  • Fluency in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to act as subject matter expert and provides training, troubleshooting and other support for software applications managed by business unit (i.e. COGNOS, FIS, Incentive Scorecards)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated group presentation skills and excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization
