As the Specialist, Data Entry, you’ll provide accurate data to all system users and maintain the accuracy and timeliness of operational equipment data (events, locations, status) in the Equipment System for all ingates and outgate EDI transmissions. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support the equipment group to maximum fleet utilization and control through enhanced data integrity and reporting of equipment location and status
  • Perform timely and accurate Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) rejection cleanup-sweeping for each location 2-3 times per day to ensure Operations is able to properly advance equipment in a timely manner
  • Conduct continuous analysis of EDI rejections to identify and correct systematic errors, and to automate the solution of recurring errors that cannot be halted at their source
  • Monitor reports for missing/late events from rails and updating systems with most current estimate time for arrival/departure
  • Respond to phone calls and emails regarding the shipment system status
  • Support customer service/drayage in entering approvals for storage charges via railroad websites

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience with high-volume data entry/transactional processing in an operations environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
  • Ability to find patterns and root causes in order to minimize or automate the transactional work

  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends
