As a Tech Program Intern III, you’ll have the opportunity to explore what’s next in software engineering, cybersecurity, QA, data science, UX/UI and more. This 10 to 12-week internship program will take place in one of multiple locations during the summer of 2023. We take pride in helping young professionals grow and learn. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Create business intelligence solutions by studying informational needs, conferring with users, studying system flows, data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the development life cycle; comply with design and development standards
- Interview business users to understand various data elements and usage
- Participate in development optimization for reporting tools through modeling, simulation and analysis
- Build reporting and analysis using Google Big Query (GBQ) and Looker
- Perform tasks using data warehouse methodologies and theories (dimensional modeling)
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in a STEM-based field (ie. Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, etc.)
- 2 or more years of relevant coursework
It’d be great if you also have:
- Class status as a junior (3rd year) or greater
- Ability to write SQL
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of Database concepts
- Basic knowledge of any data visualization tools
- Ability to perform tasks in support of unit testing, integration testing and system-level testing
- Knowledgeable about new technologies and products with the willingness to continue learning
- Ability to be open-minded and receptive to feedback in an intellectually rigorous environment
- Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Great verbal and written communication skills
