As the Director, National Account Manager, you’ll be directly responsible for selling to our largest customers the entire XPO portfolio of solutions including our 8 lines of business; Truckload Brokerage, Intermodal, Drayage, Expedite, Global Forwarding, Last Mile, Dedicated, and 3PL solutions. Your focus will be to engage at least 30 customers who each have at least $25M in transportation spend. You will be asked to both acquire new large spend clients from our extensive prospecting list of potential customers, as well as cross sell to existing customers into other lines of business and solutions. Today we have 4 sales regions across North America and building up to 10 Directors of National Accounts in each region. Come and join the fastest revenue growth generating sales team at XPO.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Engage strategically with an assigned set of accounts
  • Sell the XPO value in each of the 8 lines of business to ensure each customer is fully aware of the value we can bring
  • Build relationships with high level decision makers within each customer and build deep and wide relationships through bringing with you XPO leadership
  • Pull all customers opportunities throughout the year and build a sales pipeline across all 8 lines of business
  • Deliver results that reflect profitable revenue growth with both existing and new customers
  • Engage effectively with the XPO internal leadership team to build awareness of your customers and all current and future opportunities

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of experience in sales

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics
  • Availability to travel up to 33% of the time
  • Experience in North American transportation services such as truckload, brokerage, intermodal, drayage, global forwarding, expedite or managed transportation
  • Sales experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering annual sales results around revenue and gross margin targets
  • Success in large account development, business development and sales management
  • A strong drive to acquire new business
