Transport Operator (Nights) - 6 month FTC

Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Operator to join us on a temporary, 6-month fixed term basis, working a rotating shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 3 on 3 off shift pattern covering the Night shift. This is for our contract based in Beeston for Boots.

Although this is a 6-month contract covering maternity cover, there may be an opportunity to become full time on this site or on another contract within the business.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Pre-brief and de-brief drivers making sure they are ready to carry out shifts for us safely and in compliance with our KPIs.
• Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations
• Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of Customer vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business
• Execute customers plan and make changes where necessary to limit stock outs
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are logged and communicated to management and customer in a timely manner
• First line of communication for the driver workforce.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• A good understanding of fast-paced transport teams / experience working in a transport office.
• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
