What you’ll need to succeed as a Corporate Stenographer at XPO
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in stenography, transcription, or administrative support, preferably in a large corporate enterprise environment
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and digital transcription equipment/software.
- Fast and accurate typing skills, legible handwriting, accurate spelling and proofreading, and the ability to listen well and extract all relevant information
- Availability to work overtime as necessary
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to type over 100 words per minute
- Proven ability to work in a professional, helpful and flexible manner while maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior-level executives and across departments.
About the Corporate Stenographer job
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Attend leadership calls and meetings to quickly document real-time, accurate notes of the conversations and subjects reviewed during the meeting or call
- Take notes for confidential and sensitive meetings
- Ensure notes are clear, correct, and comprehensive
- Draft post-meeting or call communications to relevant personnel with the information properly synthesized for the receivers to easily review
- Maintain organized electronic files, providing word processing, spellcheck, and proofing support
- Listen, transcribe and take detailed notes on internal and external calls
- Provide notes within 2 hours, in an agreed-upon format
Employees are paid within a salary range based on their experience, skill set, and market.
Colorado annual salary range: $74,792 and $93,490
New York annual salary range: $78,354 to $97,942
California annual salary range: $81,915 to $102,394
Washington State annual salary range: $78,354 to $97,942
Maryland annual salary range: $78,354 to $97,942
Minnesota annual salary range: $71,231 to $89,038
Illinois annual salary range: $74,792 and $93,490
Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set (e.g., if an applicant far exceeds the minimum and preferred qualifications for the role).
