What you’ll need to succeed as a Tech Program Intern III (Linehaul Analytics) at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 2 or more years of relevant undergraduate coursework
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with administrative processes
- Interest/openness to learn/explore about Less-Than-Truckload business and usage of advanced analytics methods/tools to support complex strategic/tactical/operational business decisions
It’d be great if you also have:
- Demonstrated ability in analyzing technical and non-technical problems by developing research questions, implementing appropriate analytical methods, and presenting results
- Practical experience with scripting/programming languages such as SQL/Python/C++/Rust; code management services such as Git;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for the intended audience
- Knowledge in supporting decision making through mathematical modeling and performance measuring, implementation, operationalization, and scalability of scientific techniques/advanced algorithms
- Solid organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to be open-minded and receptive to feedback in an intellectually-rigorous environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Energetic work style with a strong drive to succeed
- Self-motivated instincts with the ability to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment and consult with team members/management as needed
About the Tech Program Intern III (Linehaul Analytics) job
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Participate in a 12-week program where you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the LTL business through Advanced Analytics.
- Give you hands-on exposure to execution of advanced concepts in disciplines like Operations Research/Optimization/Prescriptive Analytics, Software Development/Engineering, Data Engineering/Business Intelligence, Quality Assurance and more.
- Gain understanding and experience with various functions of the transportation and logistics industry
- Participate in projects in the areas of logistics, network design, simulation, transportation and optimization
- Work with business process owners to identify and scope areas of opportunity
- Build strong relationships and collaborations with senior leadership to support company goals
- Develop hands-on experience with continuous improvement projects and Lean principles; utilize and enhance your problem-solving skills while contributing to special assignments
Pay starts at $28.00
