As the Internal Communications Manager, you will help plan, write, develop, design and execute internal communications for employees in North America, ensuring they are well informed of company news and events and are invested in the organization's vision and values. Please note that this position is in scope to transition to the brokered transportation services company that will be created with the planned separation of XPO’s North American Transportation business from its less-than-truckload (LTL) business. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Plan, write and coordinate communications to support internal programs, projects and initiatives
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to research and write communication plans and materials that include videos, social media posts, presentations, talking points, posters, digital signage and promotional materials
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, proofing, quality assurance and coordinating with internal stakeholders and outside vendors
  • Report and communicate project statuses to the director of internal communications
  • Coordinate the design, production and distribution of communications resources, including printed collateral, training materials, newsletters and PowerPoint presentations
  • Resolve issues, identify alternatives and make appropriate recommendations to ensure project success
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and adherence to XPO brand standards

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of communications experience in an agency or corporate setting
  • Experience facilitating town hall meetings and management calls online or in person
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a related field
  • Experience working with outside vendors
  • Graphic design, photography and videography capabilities
  • Experience communicating with employees at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic mindset with a strong attention to detail, sense of urgency and can-do attitude
  • Project management skills
  • Familiarity with both electronic and print media, with an aptitude for electronic media
