As the Senior Analyst, Tax you’ll be responsible for preparing and/or reviewing the quarterly and annual ASC 740 Income Tax Provision for the company. Join XPO, and we’ll give you the support you need to excel at work, and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prepare and review income tax provisions and related schedules through partnership with internal departments or external tax providers to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC standards related to accounting for income taxes for inclusion in internal and external financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of income tax footnotes for quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of tax-related impacts of any purchase, accounting adjustments for mergers or acquisitions and assisting senior leadership with managing the tax impact of all future company decisions
  • Perform research and draft technical memoranda to leadership related to tax provisions as needed
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as they pertain to corporate tax provision matters
  • Assist with international taxes as it pertains to the company and its subsidiaries
  • Prepare complex multi-state, federal, and international informational tax compliance workpapers
  • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and management to ensure strategic alignment of the tax function with other business units
  • Manage special projects as required

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years of experience in a corporate tax function, accounting firm, or other related field
  • Knowledge of OneSource software or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle and HFM or similar
  • Ability to perform tax research and develop internal tax strategies and opinions
  • Knowledge of accounting principles related to accounting for income taxes under U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations as well as financial accounting as it pertains to tax return/provision preparation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to create complex formulas in Excel

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA certification, or CPA exam started
  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Experience in international taxation
  • Experience with SharePoint
