As the Analyst, Tax, you will support the company’s state income and indirect tax return compliance functions. You’ll work on state tax returns, as well as tax estimates, provision and planning and have the chance to grow your state tax experience by assisting this team as needed. This is an opportunity for you to roll up your sleeves and grow as a professional, ensuring a bright future for yourself and XPO.


Please note that this position is in scope to transition to the brokered transportation services company that will be created with the planned separation of XPO’s North American Transportation business from its less-than-truckload (LTL) business. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Assist with the preparation and review of State income, property, GST, Use, and franchise tax returns, estimates, and extension
  • Assist with the preparation of federal tax returns, estimates, provision and planning.
  • Assist with process improvements pertaining to the tax return process, such as, work papers and procedures required for tax returns
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness for tax general ledger accounts
  • Research various state tax issues as needed

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1 year of state tax experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA
  • Experience with CorpTax, Longview, and Alteryx software
  • Experience with Oracle and HFM
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
