 As the Manager, Dev Ops, you will work within our application support/problem management organization to develop and maintain smart software that will make it easy for our carriers to optimize how they move freight across the U.S. and internationally. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Create suitable DevOps channels
  • Manage and review technical operations
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT on infrastructure and projects, such as disaster recovery, information security, network, and provisioning
  • Develop and own best practices/methodologies for provisioning, platform scaling, configuration management, monitoring, etc.
  • Act as the lead and liaison of the Development and Operations team, including working with third parties, to solve technical issues and improvements as required
  • Lead support for end users on logistics/transportation applications, including facilitation of issue resolution
  • Collaborate with corporate functions on the utilization and implementation of standard processes and procedures, and shared resources; identify, influence and lead adoption of best practices
  • Create and share system performance metrics and drive continuous improvement to system performance, uptime, and stability
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other teams for system upgrades and enhancements
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing and production environments
  • Design and Develop web, web services and back-office applications using the Microsoft and open source stack of technologies, including C#, .NET Core, Kafka, Couchbase, and Elasticsearch
  • Provide input on information technology tools, application upgrades and architectural design
  • Implement and improve monitoring and alerting
  • Build and maintain highly available systems and Container Orchestration on Kubernetes and Docker
  • Support software infrastructure by identifying and diagnosing software failures

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of experience in DevOps in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience in build and release engineering through complete mobile, web, and/or backend infrastructure product cycles
  • Proficient in building and maintaining toolchains

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Significant version control experience (Git preferred)
  • Experience with Java and .NET
  • Experience with Team City and Octopus
  • Experience with AWS, VMware, or similar virtualization technologies
