$500 sign-on bonus offered to eligible participants hired while the program is in effect, paid in two installments. Bonuses are subject to all applicable taxes. All other rules governing this program will apply. 


As the Specialist, Compliance, you will be responsible for processing and reviewing customer mandated background checks, motor vehicle reports and drug screens for all Last Mile contract carrier applicants and all contract carrier employee applicants, as well as annually renewing background checks and motor vehicle reports for all contracted Contract Carriers and their driver and helper employees.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Review each applicant’s background and drug test authorization forms and supporting documentation as required by vendors and FCRA regulations for completeness, accuracy, and usability
  • Obtain missing, inaccurate, or unusable documents from appropriate Operations Manager
  • Accurately place order for background and/or MVR using appropriate vendor website
  • Review result of background/MVR/drug test and determine pass/fail score using insurance vendor criteria and XPO Last Mile criminal background check matrix for contract carriers
  • Communicate result to appropriate Operations Manager via ContractLogix program
  • Maintain Home Depot, GE and IKEA badges and badge systems for XPO Last Mile contractors
  • Identifies and resolves minor problems vendors’ sites, XPO personnel, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develops/recommends/implements solutions

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 1 year of experience in an office environment or related experience
  • Experience in web-based computer programs 
  • Strong Fluency user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

It’d be great if you also have:

  • 2 years office environment administrative assistant duties
  • Ability to:
    • Quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications as needed
    • Navigate between dual monitors
    • Work independently
    • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
