Regional Operation Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Operations Manager; you will be covering multiple sites and be responsible for directing the transport and warehouse operations. Everything from supervising and developing large teams to regular interaction with your customers.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Operations Management:

- Oversee and manage all aspects of the logistics operation within the assigned region, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.

- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

- Monitor and evaluate operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety guidelines, and industry best practices.

- Assist the safety team in the development and implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

- Support regular safety audits, inspections, and training sessions to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.

Cost Control:

- Develop and manage the annual budget for the region, ensuring effective cost control measures are in place.

- Monitor and evaluate costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

- Implement and enforce cost control measures, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to optimise financial performance, with a keen eye for productivity and effective utilisation

Team Direction and Development:

- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of operations staff, including warehouse supervisors, transportation coordinators, and other key personnel.

- Set performance objectives and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and training to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.

- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

- Transport Managers International CPC is required.

- Proven experience in transportation and warehouse management, preferably in a third-party logistics environment.

- Strong operational background, with a track record of successfully managing complex logistics operations.

- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.

- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.

- Excellent Management and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
