We are looking for a Procurement Category Leader Europe - Purchased Transportation (M/F) for a permanent contract to be filled as soon as possible.

 

As a European Category Leader for Transportation Services, you will take active part in the creation of sourcing strategies and drive the strategic relashionship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organizational boundaries. You will develop key sourcing plans and lead strategic negociations, ensuring service availability to meet business goals while minimizing risks and optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

You will be positioned as a trusted advisor in strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives. You will work side-by-side with internal stakeholders and external advisors if required, across Europe.

 

Your main missions are to identify opportunities, assess risks, deliver savings initiatives, participate in the definition of needs and drafting of specifications, conduct RFQ, support the Business in their requests, analyze, select, monitor suplliers' performance, negociate all aspects of the purchasing act from a TCO perspective. As part of your missions, your are involved in three types of activities:

 

1. Strategic activities

  • Participate in the implementation of the Procurement strategy and its roadmap on the different categories of your portfolio, with the support of the multifunctional category team.
  • Participate in optimization and continuous improvement projects (purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, implementation and use of tools, etc.)

 

2. Operational activities

  • Ensure implementation of annual action plans, either by carrying out initiatives or by supervising the implementation of actions.

 

These activities are part of the implementation of the below operational and cross-functional purchasing actions: 

  • Implementation of the purchasing process on the projects entrusted
  • Sharing and dissemination of best practices 
  • Monitoring of suppliers and performance 
  • Identification and exchanges on major projects in the Business, as well as on potential difficulties in the deployment of actions 

 

3. Administrative tracking

  • Reporting on own Procurement performance (costs savings, cost avoidances, cash impacts, etc.)
  • Registration of contracts in Legal database
  • Registration of suppliers Business Reviews
  • Drafting on business cases

 

Portfolio €1,248M of spend accross Europe: 

  • Subcontracted Transportation Services: €1,200M
  • Ferries: €16M
  • Tolls & Tunnels: €32M
  • Other Strategic Projects to handle outside of key spend categories include, but are not limited to securized car parks in France and Loyalty programs towards subcontractors in EU.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Transport & Logistics operational experience
  • Knowledge and experience of operating within the third party logistics arena
  • Knowledge of effective suppliers in a number of categories, primarily Transport Services 
  • Knowledge of centralised Procurement organisations and purchasing processes
  • Excellent proficiency of Excel, Word & Powerpoint applications 
  • Ability to influence others in a wide spectrum of responsibility and at varying levels
  • Strong personal qualities and outstanding negociation skills 
  • Ability to understand when to make own decisions and when to seek guidance and authority 
  • Capacity to juggle workload effectively whilst meeting agreed timeframes
  • Full driving licence with ability to undertake reasonable travel within Europe 
  • You speak at least English and French
