What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide support to our Last Mile home delivery services for a designated region
  • Manage a team of supervisory and hourly staff, including tasks such as interviewing and hiring new personnel, training and developing team members, directing work and conducting performance reviews
  • Oversee the operations of contracted drivers operating 7 days per week in multiple locations across the region
  • Develop a contract carrier base team and ensure compliance with specified contract metrics  
  • Maintain high standards for all operational activities
  • Build relationships with customers to ensure continuous operating improvements 
  • Handle responsibility for the P&L statement
  • Collaborate with the national sales team to facilitate new avenues of growth

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills; ability to effectively deal with individuals and groups within and outside of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Project)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Management experience in transportation/logistics in home delivery
  • Ability to perform complex analyses of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems 
  • P&L experience
  • Strong analytical, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources appropriately
  • Familiarity with the most widely known and emerging tools, technologies and social applications
