Semi Skilled HGV Fitter Motherwell

We’re looking for an semi skilled HGV Fitter/Mechanic to join us at our site in Motherwell. Are you a car mechanic looking to upskill yourself? A trailer fitter wanting to gain extra skills? You’ll be working the Monday to Friday Day Shift. Our hours of cover are 06.00 - 18.00 split into 2 shifts 06.00 - 15.30 & 08.30 - 18.00. You’ll be working with an established team on a diverse range of vehicles and trailers including MAN, Renault & Mercedes. We’ll need you to have  experience in fault diagnosis and repair as well as stripping, fitting and replacing components. Preferably, you’ll have C+E entitlement on your licence, however, this isn’t essential. As the contract can have some irregularity of hours, you’ll need to have a flexible approach.

We’re looking to offer the competitive salary of £35,439 for someone who is semi skilled up to a base salary of £39226 for a qualified fitter. Optional over time is available at an enhanced rate. What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Carry out servicing and repairs on our fleet of HGVs
• Diagnose faults on vehicles

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Proven experience in an mechanical role
• Relevant HGV mechanic qualification, or working toward them would be desirable but ot esstential 
• A full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement is desirable
