As the Accounts Receivable Cash Application Specialist, you will review, research and resolve unapplied funds on receipts and overpayments on invoices. You will play a critical role in maintaining positive client relationships while positioning yourself and the company for long-term success. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Resolve unapplied funds in 2-3 business days, using research methods such as pulling batches to review detail, contacting customers, and/or working with collections
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop sustainable countermeasures as needed to correct occurrences future state
  • Maintain accounts receivable records by entering new and updated customer and payment information
  • Apply funds to outstanding accounts receivable or issue refunds back to customers or another department
  • Verify receivable information and determine if customer is due refund for overpayment 
  • Review suspended and pending items daily to ensure appropriate action is taken once customer and/or collection staff has appropriately responded to request for action
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to identify and reconcile issues

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience in accounts receivable

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or college coursework in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience 
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in a team environment and get along with diverse personalities
